CONVERSATION WITH MR SPRING
I have recorded separately the bulk of the conversation between the Secretary of State and Mr Spring this afternoon.
2. After referring to the concerns in Dublin about Mr Hume, Mr Spring suggested that it would be sensible to discuss these and how to handle them in a "semi-restricted session" after tomorrow's tete-a-tete and before the restricted session. He suggested that Ministers might be joined by one or two officials on either side.
3. The Secretary of State said that this seemed a sensible way to proceed.
