From the Private Secretary

13 May 1993

Dear John,
MEETING WITH THE IRISH PRIME MINISTER

Thank you for your letter of 10 May.

The Prime Minister hopes that, in conveying his invitation to the Taoiseach to talks and a working supper on 16 June, our Ambassador will actively encourage Mr Reynolds to bring the Tanaiste and the Minister of Justice with him. I should be grateful if you could ensure that the instructions to Mr Blatherwick contain a firm steer in this direction.

I am copying this letter to William Fittall (NIO) and to Melanie Leech (Cabinet Office).

Yours ever,
Roderic
