Martin Mansergh, Noel Dorr, Seán Ó hUiginn, Quentin Thomas and Jonathan Stephens were also present. Topics covered: role of Joint Declaration as a foundation stone for future work; PIRA response to joint declaration (Irish keen to allow them more time); need for unity; PIRA violence; British need for Irish Government response to Framework paper; Irish need for talks to be three-stranded; Molyneaux's refusal to meet Reynolds; Gerry Adams' visit to the States; Boundary Commission and gerrymandering (PM insisted it was wholly independent and there was nothing they could do); select committee composition.
