This document provides an account of a meeting between John Chilcot and John Hume on 25 January 1991, where Hume told Chilcot that he had met Charles Haughey the previous day and that Haughey had indicated that he wanted to speak to Peter Brooke in the margins of the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference on 31 January 1991 to discuss the interaction between the political development and political movement processes. Hume also mentioned the potential for a joint declaration by the British and Irish Governments in the future.
