RESOLUTION
The participants recognize the need to obtain widespread support in both the unionist and nationalist communities respectively, and throughout Northern Ireland, for any comprehensive agreement that may result from the negotiations. Therefore, the participants ~~resolve~~ {envisage} that any such agreement be approved by participating political parties which\, taken together\, shall have obtained a majority {|} of the valid voter count {|} in the elections held on May 30\, 1996 that is sufficiently substantial {|} as will give political efficacy to such agreement.

This document contains the draft text of a resolution on the political efficacy of the comprehensive agreement that was proposed by the Chairmen on 18 July 1996 at 10.00.
