Aide-Mémoire

Writing Peace: Dermot Nally Collection

Photocopied aide-mémoire for discussion of a draft Joint Declaration by Albert Reynolds and John Major, with handwritten annotations. The draft declaration proposed by the Irish Government was drawn up in consultation with John Hume, Leader of the SDLP. Albert Reynolds suggests John Major study the text and decide later a basis on which to proceed. [The document is dated 8/7/93 in a handwritten annotation, but a copy of the same text was handed over to Roderic Lyne by Albert Reynolds on 6 June 1993. The date may refer to the annotations.]
