Long title: (Act 1 of 1999) British-Irish Agreement Bill 1999 (Bill 10 of 1999)
The British-Irish Agreement Act formed part of the larger frameworks of the Belfast Agreement, also known as the Good Friday Agreement. It was signed jointly by the British and Irish governments in agreement of the implementation of the Belfast Agreement.
The signing of this Agreement also entered into force certain supplementary agreements of the Belfast Agreement including further provisions in relation to the North-South Ministerial Council, Implementation Bodies, and the British-Irish Council.
