Alexander H. Rice

(30 August, 1818 -- 22 July, 1895) Rice was an American paper manufacturer and politician. Born in Newton Lower Falls, Mass., Rice worked in the paper business until elected as mayor in 1856 and 1857. Rice was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-sixth and to the three succeeding Congresses.
