Lewis W. Ross

(8 December, 1812 -- 20 October, 1895) Ross was an American lawyer and politician. Ross was born in Seneca County, N.Y.. After moving to Illinois, Ross studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1839. Ross was member of the State house of representatives in 1840, 1841, 1844, and 1845 and also was a member of the State constitutional convention in 1861 and 1870. Ross was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-eighth, Thirty-ninth, and Fortieth Congresses.
