(19 July, 1825 -- 24 November, 1889) Pendleton was an American politician and lawyer. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Pendleton studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1847. Pendleton was a member of the State senate from 1854 to 1856. Pendleton was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-fifth and to the three succeeding Congresses and later elected as a Democrat to the United States Senate in 1879.
