"(February 18, 1827 -- March 31, 1903) Henry Winslow Corbett was a(n) merchant, city treasurer, and American politician. He was born in Westboro, Massachusetts and moved to Portland Oregon. Henry was a city treasurer of Portland, member of the city council, and chairman of the Republican State Central Committee. Corbett was elected as a Republican to the the United States Senate (March 4, 1867 - March 3, 1873) and was appointed to the United States Senate (March 6, 1897) but was not permitted to qualify. He was not elected in 1873 or 1901.
