Also known as The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adoption of the Federal Constitution, Elliot's Debates is a series of volumes compiled by Johnathan Elliot that document the period between the end of the Constitutional Convention in 1787 and the First Congress in 1789. Elliot compiled the volumes during the mid-nineteenth century from various sources that relate to this interim period.
