Retained titles given by Ewald to the documents identified by Farrand as Documents I-IX in his *Records,* but did not retain the order of documents as such, for clarity. When the Historical Society of Pennsylvania digitized their manuscript copies of Wilson's papers, they chose to collate certain pages, such as parts I and II of Wilson's first draft of the Constitution, in an order incongruous with Farrand and Ewald's methodologies. New York 25 July 1787 Permit me to hint, whether it would not be wise & seasonable to provide a a strong check to the admission of Foreigners into the administration of our national Government; and to declare expresly that the Command in chief of the american army shall not be given to, nor devolve on, any but a natural born Citizen.
