Benjamin T. Eames

(June 4, 1818 — October 6, 1901) Eames was a teacher, bookkeeper, and lawyer. Benjamin Eames was born in Norfolk County, Massachusetts and moved to Providence, Rhode Island after studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1845. He served as a clerk of the State House of Representatives (1845-1850), a member of the State Senate (1854-1857), and member of the State House of Representatives (1859, 1860, 1868-1869). Eames was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1879.
