George F. Hoar
(August 29, 1826 — September 30, 1904) Hoar was an American politician and lawyer. George Frisbie Hoar was born in Concord, Massachusetts and was the brother of Ebenezer Rockwood Hoar. He graduated from Harvard University in 1846 and was admitted to the bar in 1849. Hoar was a member of the State House of Representatives in 1852 and was a State Senator in 1857. Hoar was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1869 to March 3, 1877. He was again elected to the United States Senate and served from March 4, 1877 until his death in 1904.
