United States Thirteenth Amendment 1863-65

Austin A. King

(21 September, 1802 -- 22 April, 1870) King was born in Sullivan County, Tenn., studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1822. After moving to Missouri in 1830, King served in the Black Hawk War. King was a member of the State house of representatives in 1834 and 1836, governor of Missouri from 1848 to 1853, and was elected as a Unionist to the Thirty-eighth Congress, serving from March 4th, 1863 to March 3rd, 1865.
