Albert Rust

(1818 — 4 April, 1870) Rust was an American lawyer and politician. Born in Fauquier County, Va., Rust was admitted to the bar and practiced in El Dorado, Ark. Rust served as a member of the State House of Representatives from 1842 to 1848 and later from 1852 to 1854. Rust was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-fourth Congress, failed an election for the Thirty-fifth Congress, and subsequently succeded in canidacty for the Thirty-sixth Congress. Afterwards, Rust served as brigadier general in the Confederate Army. Rust died in Little Rock, Ark. in 1870.
