Daniel S. Norton

"(April 12, 1829 -- July 13, 1870) Daniel Sheldon Norton is a lawyer, public servant, soldier, and an American politician. Norton studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1852. He served in the Mexican War, was a member of the State hour of representatives (1857-1860), and was a member of the State senate from 1861 to 1864. He was elected as a Unionist to the United States Senate from March 4, 1865 to his death in 1870.
