The Civil Rights Act of 1875

Glenni W. Scofield

(11 March, 1817 -- 30 August, 1891) Scofield was an American lawyer and politician. Born in Chautauqua County, N.Y., Scofield studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1842, afterwards commencing practice in Pennsylvania. Scofield was a member of the State house of representatives from 1849 to 1851 and the State senate from 1857 to 1859. Scofield was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-eighth and to the five succeeding Congresses.
