Samuel A. Dobbins

(April 14, 1814 — May 26, 1886) Dobbins was a politician, farmer, and businessman. Samuel Atkinson Dobbins was born in Burlington County, New Jersey, where he attended private and public schools. After completing his schooling, Dobbins engaged in farming and was working as a farmer when he became the high sheriff of Burlington County in 1854. He served as a member of the State House of Assembly from 1859 to 1861. Dobbins was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1877.
