The Civil Rights Act of 1875

Milo Goodrich

(January 3, 1814 — April 15, 1881) Milo Goodrich was a teacher, lawyer, and politician. Goodrich was born in East Homer, New York in 1814. He attended Oberlin College and was admitted to the bar in 1840. Goodrich taught school in various states including New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In 1867 and 1868, he served as a member of the State constitutional convention before being elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives. Goodrich served in Congress from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1873. After serving in the House, he continued to practice law until his death in 1881.
