The Civil Rights Act of 1875

Charles W. Kendall

(April 22, 1828 — June 25, 1914) Kendall was an editor, proprietor, and lawyer. Charles Kendall was born in Waldo County, Maine and moved to California after completing his education at Yale College. While in California he studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1859. He served as a member of the State Assembly (1861-1862) before moving to Hamilton, Nevada in 1862. He was elected as a Democrat to the United States House of Representatives. Kendall served from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1875.
