The Civil Rights Act of 1875

S. F. Nuckolls

(August 16, 1825 — February 14, 1879) Nuckolls was a businessman and politician. Stephen Nuckolls was born in Grayson County, Virginia and lived in Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, New York, Wyoming, and Utah throughout his life. He is known for founding Nebraska City, in the Nebraska Territory in 1854 and he held many local offices, including member of the Nebraska Territorial Legislature (1859). His business pursuits took him to Colorado, and eventually to the Dakota Territory. When the Territory of Wyoming was established, Nuckolls was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-First Congress from December 6, 1869 to March 3, 1871.
