The Civil Rights Act of 1875

G. W. Whitmore

(August 26, 1824 — October 14, 1876) Whitmore was an American politician and lawyer. George Washington Whitmore was born in McMinn County, Tennessee and moved to Texas in 1848. He served as a member of the State House of Representatives (1852, 1853, and 1858), and as the district attorney for the Ninth Judicial District in 1866. Whitmore was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 30, 1870 to March 3, 1871.
