Logan H. Roots
"(March 26, 1841 -- May 30, 1893) Logan Holt Roots was a(n) recruiter, soldier, farmer, president of a bank, and American politician. Roots was born close to Tamaroa, Perry County, Illinois and moved to Arkansas. Roots assisted in recruiting the 81st Illinois Volunteers, served in the army until the end of the Civil war, and was president of the First National Bank of Little Rock, Arkansas. Logan was elected as a Republican to the 40th and 41st Congresses (June 22, 1868 - March 3, 1871), was not reelected in 1870.
