U.S. Constitutional Convention 1787 (2021 Edition)

John Langdon

(26 June 1741 – 18 September 1819) Merchant and legislator. The owner of several merchant vessels, he helped to build warships during the Revolutionary War and was a delegate to the Continental Congress. He was speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives and a member of the Confederation Congress. Having been a delegate to the Constitutional Convention, he afterwards joined the US Senate, where he became President pro tempore. He was elected three times to be Governor of New Hampshire.
