Robert McKnight
(January 20, 1820 — October 25, 1885) Robert McKnight, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa., January 20, 1820; attended the common schools and a private school at Xenia, Ohio; was graduated from Princeton College in 1839; studied law; was admitted to the bar in 1842 and commenced practice in Pittsburgh; city councilman 1847-1849; elected as a Republican to the Thirty-sixth and Thirty-seventh Congresses (March 4, 1859-March 3, 1863); resumed the practice of his profession; died in Pittsburgh, Pa., October 25, 1885; interment in Allegheny Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pa.
