The Civil Rights Act of 1875

Obadiah B. McFadden

(November 18, 1815 — June 25, 1875) McFadden was a politician and lawyer. Obadiah McFadden was born in Washington County, Pennsylvania. After studying law and being admitted to the bar in 1842, McFadden served was a member of the State House of Representatives (1843). He moved to the Oregon Territory in 1853 when he was appointed an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the territory. He was later appointed the Chief Justice of the Washington Territory Supreme Court from 1858 to 1861. McFadden was elected as a Democrat to Congress from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875.
