Moses W. Field
(February 10, 1828 — March 14, 1889) Field was a farmer, businessman, and politician. Moses Whelock Field was born in Jefferson County, New York and moved to Michigan in 1844. In Michigan, he worked in the mercantile and agricultural businesses. Field was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875. After serving in Congress, Field helped organize the Independent Greenback Party. He retired to his farm and died there in March 1889.
