Elizur H. Prindle

(May 6, 1829 — October 7, 1890) Elizur H. Prindle was an American politician and lawyer. Prindle was born in Newton, Connecticut in 1829 and moved to New York to study at a local academy in Homer. He studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1854. Prindle served in the New York State Assembly in 1863, and was Chenango County’s district attorney. Before being elected to Congress, he was a delegate of the State constitutional convention in 1867 and 1868. Prindle was elected to the United States House of Representatives as a Republican and served from March, 1871 to March, 1873. After serving in Congress, he continued practicing law in New York until his death in 1890.
