The Civil Rights Act of 1875

Dudley M. Du Bose

(October 28, 1834 — March 2, 1883) Dudley McIver Du Bose was an American politician and lawyer. Du Bose was born in Shelby County, Tennessee and moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1860. He graduated from Lebanon Law School and was admitted to the bar in 1857. During the Civil War, Du Bose enlisted in the Confederate Army and served as a colonel and brigadier general. He was elected as a Democrat to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1873.
