United States Fourteenth Amendment & The Civil Rights Act of 1866

Walter D. McIndoe

(30 March, 1819 -- 22 August, 1872) McIndoe was an Scottish American businessman and politician. Born in Dumbartonshire, Scotland, McIndoe immigrated to the United States in 1834 and engaged in business in New York, Charleston, and St. Louis. In 1845, McIndoe settled in Wisconsin and was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-seventh Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Luther Hanchett. McIndoe was reelected to the Thirty-eighth and Thirty-ninth Congresses.
