United States Fourteenth Amendment & The Civil Rights Act of 1866

Justin S. Morrill

(14 April, 1810 -- 28 December, 1898) Morrill was an American businessman and politician. Born in Orange County, Vt., Morrill engaged in business and agriculture until he was elected as a Whig to the Thirty-fourth Congress and as a Republican to the five succeeding Congresses. Afterwards, Morrill was elected as a Union Republican to the United States Senate in 1866 and reelected as a Republican in 1872, 1878, 1884, 1890 and 1896.
