Godlove S. Orth

(22 April, 1817 -- 16 December, 1882) Orth was an American lawyer and politician. Orth was born in Lebanon, Pa.. Orth was admitted to the bar in 1839 and began practice in LaFayette, Indiana. Orth was a member of the State senate from 1843 to 1848, serving one year as president. Orth was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-eighth and to the three succeeding Congresses and later was elected as a Republican to the Forty-sixth and Forty-seventh Congresses.
