United States Thirteenth Amendment 1863-65

Leonard Myers

(13 November, 1827 -- 11 February, 1905) Myers was an American lawyer, soldier, and politician. Born in Bucks County, Pa., Myers studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1848. During the Civil War, Myers was major of the Ninth Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia. Myers was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-eighth, Thirty-ninth, and Fortieth Congresses and successfully contested a seat into the Forty-first Congress. Afterwards he was reelected into the Forty-second and Forty-third Congresses.
