(21 January, 1812 -- 6 February, 1868) Herrick was an American journalist and politician. Born in Androscoggin County, Maine, Herrick moved to New York City in 1836 and established the New York Atlas. Herrick was elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-eighth Congress, though he was unsuccessful at any reelection.
