(August 7, 1829 — December 20, 1885) Harrison was a court clerk, judge, lawyer, and politician. Horace Harrison Harrison was born in Lebanon, Tennessee in 1829. He was clerk of the county court, master of the chancery court, and register of deeds in McMinnville, Tennessee. After serving as the clerk of the State Senate in 1851 and 1852, Harrison studied law and was admitted to the bar in 1857. He served as judge on the State Supreme Court in 1867 and 1868. Harrison was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875. After serving in Congress, he returned to Tennessee and served in the State Legislature from 1880 to 1881.
