(November 28, 1813 — February 20, 1887) Henry Harrison Hathorn was a businessman and public servant. Hathorn was born in Greenfield, New York in 1813 where he attended school and later graduated from the public schools of Greenfield. He worked in the mercantile business for ten years in Saratoga Springs, New York. Hathorn also served as sheriff of the county and supervisor of Saratoga Springs. He is known for discovering the Hathorn Mineral Spring. Hathorn was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1877. After serving Congress, he worked in the mineral-water industry until his death in 1887.
