Josiah W. Begole

(January 20, 1815 — June 5, 1896) Begole was a teacher, businessman, banker, and politician. Josiah Williams Begole was born in Livingston County, New York and moved to Michigan in 1836. Begole worked in agriculture, lumber, manufacturing of wagons, and banking. He served as school inspector, justice of the peace, town treasurer and county treasurer. Additionally, Begole was a member of the State Senate in 1870 to 1871. He was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1875.
