Randolph Strickland

(February 4, 1823 — May 5, 1880) Strickland was an American politician, teacher, and lawyer. Randolph Strickland was born in Dansville, New York and moved to Michigan in 1844. In Michigan, Strickland taught school and studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1849 and practiced law in Clinton County, Michigan. He served as prosecuting attorney for Clinton County in 1852, 1854, 1856, 1858, and 1862. He also served as a member of the State Senate in 1861 and 1862. Strickland was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives and served from March 4, 1869 to March 3, 1871.
