"(March 9, 1822 -- December 3, 1900) Samuel Francis Gove was a(n) farmer, merchant, missionary, Baptist minister, and American politician. Gove was born in Weymouth, Norfolk County, Massachusetts and moved to Twiggs County, Georgia in 1835. Samuel was ordained as a Baptist minister in 1877. He was elected as a Republican to the 40th Congress (June 25, 1868 - March 3, 1869) and upon presenting credentials as a Member-elect was not permitted to qualify to the 41st Congress.
