"(July 11, 1810 -- December 23, 1878) Julius Hotchkiss was a(n) manufacturer, mayor, lieutenant governor, public servant, and American politician. Hotchkiss was born in Waterbury, Connecticut. He served as mayor of Waterbury (1852), as a member of the State house of representatives (1851 and 1858), and as lieutenant governor of Connecticut (1870).
