"(August 13, 1813 --- April 21, 1893) William Slosson Lincoln was a(n) lawyer, merchant, manufacturer of leather, postmaster, supervisor, justice of the peace, and American politician. Lincoln was born in Berkshire, Tioga County, New York. He studied law and was admitted to the bar. William was postmaster of Newark Valley (September 20, 1838 - February 24, 1841 & December 19, 1844 - September 19,1866). supervisor (1841, 1844, 1865, 1866) and justice of the peace (1852 & 1855). Lincoln was elected as a Republican to the 40th Congress (March 4, 1867 - March 3, 1869) and was not a candidate for reelection.
