United States Bill of Rights 1789 (2021 Edition)

(21 September 1757– 19 March 1806) Congressman, U.S. Senator, and Governor of Georgia.

In 1777 Jackson was a delegate to the Georgia Constitutional Convention. He served in the state militia, fought in numerous engagements, and became a major general in 1792. He owned several thousand acres of rice and cotton-producing lands. Later in life, he began a law practice that provided additional income to the profits from his plantations. He was a keen code duello practitioner.
