(February 20, 1842 — October 9, 1882) Jones was an American politician and lawyer. William Jones was born in Harrison County, Indiana. He studied law and was admitted to the bar, and practiced law in Indiana prior to the Civil War. During the war, Jones served in the Union Army as a major in the Indiana Volunteer Infantry. In 1869, he was appointed to be an associate justice of the Supreme Court in the Territory of Wyoming, and moved to the Territory. He was elected as a Republican to represent the Territory for the Forty-Second Congress from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1873. (August 16, 1825 — February 14, 1879) Nuckolls was a businessman and politician. Stephen Nuckolls was born in Grayson County, Virginia and lived in Missouri, Nebraska, Colorado, New York, Wyoming, and Utah throughout his life. He is known for founding Nebraska City, in the Nebraska Territory in 1854 and he held many local offices, including member of the Nebraska Territorial Legislature (1859). His business pursuits took him to Colorado, and eventually to the Dakota Territory. When the Territory of Wyoming was established, Nuckolls was elected as a Democrat to the Forty-First Congress from December 6, 1869 to March 3, 1871. (July 24, 1842 — November 30, 1901) Steele was an American politician and lawyer. William Steele was born in New York City, where he received an education, eventually studied law and was admitted to the bar. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War, and afterwards moved to the Territory of Wyoming. While in Wyoming, he served as a member of the Territorial Legislative Council (1871-1873). He resigned the Legislative Council when he was elected to represent the Territory in Congress. He served as a Democrat from March 4, 1873 to March 3, 1877.
