Brandegee was a member of the State house of representatives (1854, 1858, 1859, and 1861) and served as speaker his last term. Brandegee was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-eighth and the Thirty-ninth Congresses and served from March 4th, 1863 to March 3rd, 1867. Born in Colchester, New London County, Conn., Deming graduated Harvard Law School in 1939 and was admitted to the bar in the same year. He was a member of the State house of representatives in 1849, 1850, and 1859-1861, a member of the State senate in 1851 and the mayor of Hartford, Conn., 1854-1858 and 1860-1862. Deming entered the Union Army in September 1861 as colonel of the Twelfth Regiment and resigned in 1863 after being the mayor of New Orleans under martial law. Deming was elected as a Republican to the Thirty-eighth and Thirty-ninth Congresses and served from March 4, 1863 to March 3, 1867. Dixon was elected as a Whig to the Twenty-ninth and Thirtieth Congress and was elected as a Republican to the Senate in 1856, reelected in 1863, serving from March 4, 1857 to March 3, 1869. Foster was the editor of The Republican, a Whig newspaper, and was a member of the State house of representatives 1839-1840, 1846-1848, and 1854. He graduated from the law department of Harvard University (1854) and was admitted to the bar in 1854. He was a member of the State House of Representatives in 1858 and was the Mayor of Middletown from 1862-1866. He was also a delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1864, 1888, and 1892. Larkin was elected as a Republican to the 39th Congress from March 4, 1865 to March 3, 1867, was not reelected.
