Allen A. Bradford | Visualize | "(July 23, 1815 -- March 12, 1888) Allen Alexander Bradford was a(n) lawyer, clerk, judge, public servant, and American politician. Bradford was born in Friendship, Maine and moved to Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado in 1960. Bradford studied law and was admitted to the bar. He was a clerk of the circuit court of Atchison County, Missouri (1845 - 1851), judge of the sixth judicial district in Iowa (1852-1855), and was appointed by President Lincoln as judge of the supreme court of the Territory (June 5, 1862). He was also a member of the Nebraska territorial house of representatives (1856, 1857, and 1858). He was elected as a Republican, from Colorado, to the 39th and 41st Congresses (March 4, 1865 - March 3, 1867 and March 4, 1869 - March 3, 1871). Jerome B. Chaffee | Visualize | (April 17, 1825 — March 9, 1886) Chaffee was a teacher, businessman, and politician. Jerome Chaffee was. Born in Niagara County, New York and lived in various places including Missouri and Kansas, before moving to the Territory of Colorado in 1860. He served as a member of the Territorial House of Representatives from 1861 to 1863, where he served as House Speaker for his last year. He is credited as being one of the founders of the city of Denver and he served as President of the First National Bank of Denver from 1865 to 1880. Chaffee was elected as a Republican to the United States Senate from March 4, 1871 to March 3, 1875.
