Description

Patrick Mayhew, then Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, and Michael Ancram, then Political Development Minister at the Northern Ireland Office, held a secret meeting in Derry with Gerry Adams, then President of Sinn Féin, and Martin McGuinness, then Vice-President of Sinn Féin. News of the meeting was not broken until 24 July 1995 in the *Irish Times*.
