Description

"A Royal Air Force (RAF) Chinook helicopter travelling from Northern Ireland to Scotland crashed in fog into a hillside on the Mull of Kintyre, Argyll, Scotland, killing all 29 people on board. Of those killed, 10 were senior officers in RUC Special Branch, 6 were senior officers in the Security Service (MI5), and 9 were senior officers in British Army intelligence. The 4 members of the RAF crew were also killed. The 25 security personnel had been travelling to a security conference in Inverness.
