Description

Ian Thain, a Private in the British Army, was convicted of the murder of civilian Thomas 'Kidso' Reilly (22). He was the first British Army soldier to be convicted of murdering a civilian in Northern Ireland. However, Thain was released in January 1987 and allowed to rejoin his regiment and resume active service.
